This site is written and maintained by Dr. Ed Davis, a podiatric physician practicing about 20 miles southeast of Seattle, Washington. I see more patients with painful heels than anything.

I went on the net for the first time in 1987 and searched for "heel pain" and could not beleive the stuff that came up. The people selling a bunch of questionable gadgets seem to have really taken over the first few pages of the search engines which is where most people including myself go to look. One of these days there will be a search engine that looks for real information but I guess it is hard to design one with a "truth detector."

No one treatment works for everyone and I have always maintained that we, as doctors, know a lot less about the human body than mechanics know about cars. We study for a long time but the human bdoy is incredibly complex and its systems can be studied but we will take a while before we really understand how the systems interact.

I favor free enterprise but there is no big dollar device that can fix plantar fasciitis, it is an interplay of problems that you hopefully will get a better understanding of when reading the site. Please don't hesitate to ask questions on our chat boards.
